- ItemSupply chain integration and firm performance. The moderating role of trust(KNUST, 2023) Bah Kwabena PhilipResearchers across the globe have expressed the essence of the direct relationship between the performance of firms and their supply chain integration. The study's primary aim was to examine the moderating effects of trust in the relationship between supply chain integration and firm performance. To achieve this objective, the study developed these three specific objectives: the effect of supply chain integration on firm performance, the effect of trust on firm performance, and the moderating role of trust on the relationship between supply chain integration and firm performance. The study adopted a quantitative research approach and sampled 400 small and medium-sized enterprises (smes) using convenience sampling, whereas purposive sampling was used to select managers within the smes. The data were collected using a questionnaire and analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The study result showed that there was a positive statistically significant relationship between supply chain integration and firm performance (β = 0.808, t= 26.529, p < 0.001). Again, the result showed that there was a positive statistically significant relationship between trust and firm performance (β = 0.485, t= 10.707, p < 0.001). Finally, the result showed a positive significant moderation effect of trust in the relationship between supply chain integration and firm performance (β = 0.055, t= 3.149, p = 0.002). The study recommended that managers should frequently engage employees when developing any strategies for the company. This approach makes them (employees) feel a sense of belonging and in return helps the firm gain an advantage in the market.
