Abstract: This paper examines user education programmes at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology library in Kumasi, Ghana. It focuses on the challenges that the library faces in organizing effective user education for new users in an era of increased student numbers and discusses how users are introduced to the various resources and services and highlights existing inadequacies. Appropriate recommendations are made to enhance the programme and to reduce the stress librarians go through in carrying out all this important exercise.
