Abstract
Mergers and acquisitions (M&As) continue to be a dominant growth strategy for companies worldwide. The scope of this paper examined is the impact of this phenomenon on employment and on the efficiency of human resources. M & A is not popular in Ghana and it is anticipated that in few years to come it is going to be integral part in the economy. As a result the intricalsis involved in mergers and acquisitions must be known. Few mergers and acquisitions that have taken place in the country have resulted in job losses. This is why workers of Agricultural Development Bank were against the takeover by Stanbic bank of South Africa.
