Abstract: Africa abounds in natural products. However, the continent has been selling them as raw materials or primary products, without any value addition. The systematic application of science to indigenous technologies is what is needed to add value to natural products. It is through training and research that skilled manpower can be developed to add the desired value to natural products to enhance their market value in the global market.
