Abstract: There is competition between humans and livestock for some food/feed ingredients which contributes to the high production cost of livestock especially non-ruminant livestock. There is therefore the need to find alternative sources of feed ingredients for livestock. The African Locust Bean grows wildly in some parts of the country especially in the Northern Regions where the seeds are used extensively in the production of a popular condiment known as "Dawadawa".
