Abstract: Blood transfusion is a life saving intervention which has an important role in patient management within the healthcare systems. Screening of blood donors/blood units is done in almost every blood bank facility before the blood units/blood components are transfused to prevent transfusion-transmissible infections. According to current statistics there is a 1% chance of transfusion-associated risks including transfusion transmitted diseases....
