In this study, the authour takes a critical look at one of the most problematic elements of translation, the proverb. The authour specifically studies the Akan proverb and its translatability into French, a language that is both linguistically and culturally very distant from Twi. Basing the study on the context of a novel, the author makes a study of the various ways that the Akan proverb may or may not be translated into French.en_US
