dc.description.abstract | Max-plus algebra is an analogue of conventional linear algebra developed on the operations and . The algebraic structure is a semi-ring whose elements are the usual real numbers along with = 1 and e = 0, where represents taking the maximum and is the standard addition. In this thesis we use the discrepancy method of max-plus to solve n n and m n system of linear equations where m < n. We apply the above concept to solve a real-life problem in a synchronised event. We also apply max-plus algebra in solving linear programming problem involving linear equations and inequalities. | en_US |
