dc.description.abstract”This is art, not a reality.” The artist in this research explores portraiture in art using the Ghanaian woman as his subject. In the exploration, he attempts to project and create a portrait of the Ghanaian woman as perceived with his senses and revealed through personal experiences and intuition. In order to get closer to reality, an ideal portrait of his subject, several art forms are employed stemming from his belief that, “the truth is meaningless unless compared to the other”. For this reason, various art forms, styles, techniques, media and themes are compared, contrasted, constructed and employed to create several images yet as one image. Interestingly, the audience has also been provided room to perceive, visualize and create their own portrait of the subject as they journey through the works in this book. A portrait of the Ghanaian woman is unveiled.en_US
