- ItemNational Headquarters for VOLU, Kumasi(1998-02-22) Agyemang-Prempeh, EdwardThe scheme aims at providing a detailed and comprehensive survey and documentation of the Profile, nature of operations and methods of operation of the Voluntary Workcamps Association of Ghana - V.W.A.G (VOLU). It also aims at examining the social, economic and political impact of the Association in the Ghanaian context and the international community as well, that will ultimately lead to the design of the National Headquarters for the Association (VOLU), the sole client for the scheme. 02 SCOPE Based on the foregoing objectives, the scheme is intended to provide for a “Multi- Functional” National Headquarters with facilities to administer operations of the association Nation-wide, provide hostel accommodation with its ancillary facilities for comfort-living, provide informal education and training, and generate income as well. 03 TARGET GROUP The facility apart from being the administrative seat of Volu and thereby making it the main users, it is also anticipated .o b used by other youth organisations, the general public, students, travellers - both local and foreign, religious group, public and private institutions. 04 FINANCIERS Funding for the project is expected to come from these sources; a) VOLU Members b) C.C.LV.S. (Co-ordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service) based in Paris-France. c) National Youth Council d) National Trust Fund e) Other Doner Agencies 05 METHODOLOGY - Research approach in the form of interviews, personal observations, trends study, existing situation study, technical requirements, user requirements and making references. - Documentation of data Collected - Analysis and synthesis of data collected taking congnisance of comparative studies leading to making definite design proposals for the eventual design of the “National Headquarters for VOLU”.
