The impact of transport operations on supply chain performance: role of firms’ capability
    (KNUST, 2023) Duut David Kunnton
In this study, I delve into the intricate dynamics within the logistics industry, specifically examining the relationship betIen transport operations and supply chain performance. Our overarching objective is to shed light on these dynamics, with a particular emphasis on the moderating influence of firm capabilities. To achieve this, I adopted an explanatory research design, targeting a population of 300 individuals. Our sample size comprised 100 participants, and I collected primary data through the distribution of carefully crafted questionnaires. For data analysis, I harnessed the poIr of STATA v18 software, employing multivariate and regression analyses as our primary analytical tools. The findings from our study reveal several noteworthy insights. Firstly, I observed a positive correlation betIen transport operations and supply chain performance. HoIver, it's essential to note that this relationship, while positive, did not achieve statistical significance. In contrast, I found that firm capability played a pivotal role in this dynamic. Firm capability exhibited a positive and statistically significant moderation effect, emphasizing its crucial role in influencing supply chain performance. Our research makes a significant contribution to the field of logistics and supply chain management. It highlights the complex and nuanced relationship betIen transport operations, firm capabilities, and supply chain performance, providing valuable insights for industry practitioners and researchers. While the direct impact of transport operations was positive yet non-significant, the moderating role of firm capabilities emerged as a significant factor in driving superior supply chain performance.
