    The generalized functions of Colombeau

    In 1984, Colombeau introduced a new concept of generalized functions which promises to play a fundamental role in the solution of non-linear partial differential equations and other problems. We study this new concept of Generalized Functions and how Colombeau applies it to solve non-linear partial differential equations and other problems some of which had proved intractable to existing methods.
