    The building of Regional Court Complexes in the various regions in the country is very essential to the decentralization of the judicial process. This allows the various case types to be adjudicated at the regional level and this in the long run will reduce the backlog of cases at the courts in Accra. A court complex in Tamale is very strategic because of Tamales location since in the short term, it will help determine cases from the Upper East, Upper West, Northern and the upper portions of the Brong Ahafo Regions which needs to go to Accra for adjudication. It will save time and cost. The objectives of the design will be to come with a court facility which will have facilities like an electronic referencing library, appeal courtrooms, specialized courts like the commercial court and an industrial court and district courtrooms and also meet up with the modern trends in courthouse designs. The design will look at the segregation of circulation of the various users to ensure maximum security and minimal interaction. It will also provide an edifice people relate to and see as their own. In order to achieve these objectives, various works of literature on court complexes were studied to fully comprehend what goes into the design of courts and also studies were done on court buildings in and around the country to come up with a design that will be functional, respond to the climate, utilize local and available resources and also aesthetically pleasing.
