Abstract
The overall performance of a given road network is to a large extent dependent on the levels of service of the intersections. For signalized intersections the number of lanes, lane widths, traffic composition, grade, speed, distribution of green times among conflicting movements, significantly affect both the capacity and performance of the intersections.
