dc.description.abstract | This study looked at the provision of residential accommodation for officers of decentralized departments and public organisations at the district level. The objectives of the study were to identify the nature and condition of the houses, assesses housing needs of officers of decentralized departments and public organisationa, and the capacity of the community and the District Assembly to provide housing, assess the problems associated with the provision of housing and, finally designing a strategy to address this problem. The relevant data were assembled and analysed. Findings revealed that housing problems were basically with the quality and the lack of basic facilities. It was found out that it was not financially possible for the community and the District Assembly to provide accommodation for these officers without government intervention. It was, therefore, recommended that the solution to this problem should be a joint effort between the District Assembly, interested individuals and the Central Government. | en_US |
