dc.description.abstract | Good health is an indispensable prerequisite for the attainment of growth and development in any nation. The Churches in Ghana (especially the Orthodox Ones) in recognition of their social concern and mission to liberate mankind, spiritually and physically, have been engaged in the promotion of health care alongside evangelism and mission. Their role has gone a long way in complementing Government’s efforts at ensuring a better health care delivery for the nation. The study focused on enhancing the role of the Methodist Church Ghana in promoting health care delivery in Ghana. Data were collected from both primary and secondary sources employing the complementary multi-method strategy. The purposive sampling method was used in identifying respondents who could supply the appropriate information required. The study revealed lack of infrastructure, equipment, qualified personnel and finances which seriously undermine the capacity of the health facilities in providing a better health care service for the communities in which they operate. In conclusion, the study recommended to the Methodist Church Ghana the need to place promotion of health care delivery high on her agenda and to draw up a comprehensive strategic plan that will address these constraints and pave a way for a better health care service to the people. | en_US |
