The Nurses and Midwives Council for Ghana is an administrative body set up by the Government to take charge of the Management of all Nurses and Midwives in the country, who constitute the majority of the health labour force. Although, the Council is empowered by law to function on its own, it is still under the Ministry of Health subvention and also among twenty one (21) other bodies working under the Ministry of Health, (the central government’s agency for health).
