dc.description.abstractThe overall goal of this study was to assess stakeholder management practices in public infrastructure delivery in Ghana with a focus on Municipal and District Assemblies’ in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The objectives informed the thematic areas for the literature review. Both known and new concepts were reviewed to give further clarity to the study. An exploratory design was effectively utilized for this research. Primary data were collected through the use of structured questionnaires, data gathered were analyzed and findings discussed. A sample of 96 respondents were gathered from the 26 MDAs in the region. The study revealed that MDAs usually conduct stakeholder forum to identify stakeholders of infrastructure projects. However, the selection is largely based on interest and its normally done throughout the project life cycle The study revealed that the assembly develop a RACI matrix which identify who is responsible, accountable, consulted, informed, for project activities, task and delivery, the assembly publishes communication plan that sets expectation about how the project information will be shared, The assembly influence and motivate teams to achieve project objectives and overcome political obstacle such as resistance to change. The study also revealed that effective stakeholder has effect on project duration, cost, quality and satisfaction among stakeholders. However, the study identified several challenges from internal sources, external sources and dual sources that militates against effective stakeholder management in MDAs in the Eastern Region of Ghana. It is recommended that there is the need to educate all stakeholders on the project and clear communication from the beginning to ensure better understanding among all stakeholdersen_US
