Not much has been achieved with regards to poor sanitation in spite of the many studies that have been carried out in Ghana. Consequently, the National Sanitation Day Policy which was launched in 2011 sought to inform people on the consequence of poor sanitation practice. The study examined the research objectives and question in order to make the assessment of the results meaningful. It specifically focused on the implementation challenges of the National Sanitation Day Policy in the Sekyere South District. The study was carried out at the Sekyere South District, which is located in the Ashanti region, Agona to be precise. Purposive sampling technique was employed to elicit responses to collect primary data from public administrators at Sekyere South District Assembly and the citizenry. Two hundred questionnaires were administered to the public administrators and citizenry. There was a 100% response rate. The analysis was done with the help of Microsoft Excel. The study exposed some challenges during the implementation of the National Health Sanitation Day Policy in the Sekyere South District. The public‟s perception of the policy and its effect on implementation was ascertained as well as level of stakeholder participation. To some extent, stakeholder participation was also inadequate. Again, the level of awareness proves the positive effect of the policy on attitude and behavior of the respondents.
